The Sorted Surf Reef competition Boscombe March 20-21,
boscombesurfer.jpgThe British Bodyboard Club are set to launch a tour of 4 events to decide the 2010 Open Champion it was announced today. Chairman Rich Hall said “the concept of deciding the British Champion via a series of events rather than a single one has been in discussion for some time”. He continued “the BSA has given us the freedom to explore the options and are quite happy to support us in this; so we’re going to progress the idea this year”.

One of the 4 proposed events will be The Sorted Surf Reef competition at Boscombe on March 20-21,


The events will be open to all comers, but only those eligible to enter the British Nationals can accrue points towards becoming the Open British Championship.

New Business for Boscombe!
The Lazy Shark Restaurant has just opened in Christchurch road, offering good quality modern European food. Chef’s special starters, homemade pies, fish (no shark of course), dishes from Italy, dishes from Spain and homegrown favourites. not to mention our 16oz T - bone steaks. At the Lazy Shark we have all your taste buds well and truly catered for.

Two people who will be enjoying a well deserved lie in next year are lollipop people Sid and Pearl! Children and Staff from St Clements and Bethanygave them a lovely send off this morning with gifts and cards made by the children. Between them clocking up over 36 six years, they have helped children cross safely and kept motorists in check!
Pearl started in 1996 and Sid started in 1986. Sid also works tirelessly running the anual poppy appeal for Bournemouth East.

With the Ashley Rd Bridge shut for the next few weeks, can you help to support local businesses and traders by doing more of your shopping in Boscombe?

Boscombe Market has lots of fresh food on offer, Aldi and Liddl have plenty of bargain groceries, and Sainsbury's has a great deli counter. The Sovereign centre has lots of chain stores including Holland and Barrett, Robert Dyas, Wilkinson and Boots, Outside the popular precinct area is the Butchers in Palmerston Rd and further up Christchurch Rd is Iceland and Argos. If you need a break there is the fab Boscanova Cafe which is near to Specsavers at the end of the precinct, and they are full there is also a Cafe Nero and Costa Coffee!
