Changes are afoot and local people will start to notice improvements to Boscombe town centre over the next year as the Council welcomes a dedicated officer appointed to focus on helping to transform the area. Leading on the Boscombe Regeneration project, Sally Coulson has been appointed as Project Officer to ensure that the Council maintains a clear focus on Boscombe to promote the area economically and socially and to improve both community safety and the local environment. Sally Coulson, who has a background in project management in local government and enjoys working with a broad spectrum of groups including local residents said: “I am absolutely thrilled to take on this role and I am hopeful that with the support of residents together with local businesses and partners including the police we will be able to make significant improvements to Boscombe town centre over the coming months. It will be a challenging job and it will take time but we are committed to listening to residents concerns and we are determined to improve Boscombe by making it a safer and better place to live as well as developing the area economically.” Councillor David Smith, Cabinet Member for Communities added: “The Council is committed to improving Boscombe as a place to work, live and visit and I am pleased that we now have a dedicated officer taking the lead on this project. As someone who was born in Boscombe and who knows the area very well, I know how important it is that we continue the good work that has already begun in partnership with the police to make the area a better place.” |
