Effies Turkish restaurant

Effies Turkish restaurant
Boscombe is full of secrets and nowhere more so than Effes Kebab shop where if you open the door at the back you will find yourself inside an authentic Turkish restaurant with the best charcoal grill west of Istanbul.

No fancy surroundings here I'm afraid but you will get the warmest welcome.

You may also spot a few Turkish card players keeping warm around the barbecue too.

A whole range of meze to start with are available with hoummos, tarsamalata, dolmades filled with rice and much more.

But the real treat is anything ordered from the grill and it all comes with a finely chopped mixed salad of tomato, onion and cucumber plus the most delicious sweet bread you have ever tasted.

The assorted grilled meats are a delight and in particular the lamb ribs, all this arranged on a bed of rice.

I would really recommend the bottled Effes beer to go with this huge meal - and PS unless you have been doing hard labour all day try one between 2 to start with.

Cash only here but there is a machine opposite and the day I was there with my friend and didn't think I had enough cash the manager said 'Never mind pay next time'.
