Exciting things are happening! Pokesdown is fast developing into Bournemouth’s Vintage Quarter with lots of fabulous vintage shops taking up residence in the area. These new shops add to Pokesdowns sturdy commercial base bringing new custom to this vibrant historic area. To celebrate the rise of Pokesdown as Bournemouth’s Vintage Quarter The Pokesdown Collective, in partnership with Pokesdown Residents Association, is bringing both old and new together for a unique late night Christmas shopping event on the 24th of November 2011. From 5pm to 10pm local shops will open along with The Tattoo Parlour Cafe who will be hosting a Local Independent Traders Fayre selling beautiful handmade, original and vintage items. If you are looking for a personal, individual gift for that someone special then this event is not to be missed. Not only will you find a unique present but you’ll be supporting local businesses and putting money back into the local economy. At 5pm Bournemouth’s Mayor will be switching on the lights on Pokesdown Greens very first illuminated Christmas tree, local school children will be decorating the tree and Bournemouth Collegiate Choir will be singing carols. Families will be able to participate in a special Pokesdown treasure hunt and there will also be magicians, musical serenades and much fun and merriment to be had by all.
