ASR’s Andrew Moores has arrived in Boscombe, along with diving supervisor Rex Pollock. Andrew will be leading the ASR team and will begin by finalising all details for the team’s return next month. He and Rex will also be preparing the webbing that will be used to position the bags for the top layer of the reef. Both Andrew and Rex were part of the ASR team that constructed the base layer of the reef last year, and so are familiar with the sea conditions at Boscombe. Cllr Beverley Dunlop, Cabinet Member for Economy and Tourism said, “It’s great news that we have the experience that Andrew and Rex bring to the Boscombe reef. Both know the marine environment here well from their time in Boscombe last year, and I look forward to seeing them progress construction through to completion.” Andrew said, “I am delighted to be back in Boscombe and keen to get everything ready for the return of the entire team in April. Already we are slightly ahead of time, and I am optimistic that we will have the good weather we need to complete construction by September.” |
