Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a serious assault in the Pokesdown area of the town – with one man sustaining serious injuries. The incident, in which a man – believed to be in his twenties – was attacked by a group of other men, happened outside the Seabourne Pub near to Pokesdown Railway Station on Christchurch Road at around 10pm on Saturday, 29 October 2011. The victim was taken to hospital where he is in a stable but critical condition. Detective Inspector Becky Riggs, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following the attack, I understand that the offenders made off towards Boscombe. “I would like to speak with any witnesses who may have been in the area around the Seabourne Pub or Pokesdown Railway Station, and anyone who has any information about this incident or the offenders, as soon as possible. “All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.” A cordon remains in place at the scene while investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
