TWO OF DORSET’S BEST
INSPIRE BUSINESS LEADERS TO A POSITIVE 2010
Two of Dorset’s top business leaders will be showing members of the county’s branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) a positive start to their new year by sharing the stories of their success.
Mark Cribb, the owner of the Urban Beach Hotel, won the Dorset Business Award in 2008 for Entrepreneur of the Year. He will be welcoming IoD members to the hotel and will be revealing the secrets of how he overcame some of the more challenging times on his climb up the ladder of success.
The event’s main speaker will be Dr David Richards. After an impressive career history with senior board roles at international organisations including Oracle and Nortel, he now consults, lectures and speaks on various business subjects around the world. His talk will cover effective leadership, strategic direction, innovation and understanding, managing and getting the most from key stakeholders.
Dorset IoD branch chairman Philip Warr said: “Many of our members have experienced a tough 2009 and will be keen to move forward into 2010 with a positive view of the future. Hearing how an award-winning entrepreneur such as Mark Cribb has also experienced and overcome bad times will be inspiring. And tips from the top on issues such as effective leadership and direction are always of interest to our members.”
