In early 1999, when the group first came together and still today, the belief and motivation was: 'If we can stop just one person going down the road we went it is worth it'.
"From the amount of response we have received, I believe it has stopped many young people and at least made people think about their actions and the choices they have in life" Sharon Muiruri.
Elin, one of the original group: "Vita Nova has given me the chance to be a productive member of my community, whilst having fun and learning new skills. In the last three years I've made friendships that will last forever as well as learning to work well with people I may not have in other circumstances. Being part of a troupe that's working well is a really brilliant experience".
Graham, a later volunteer: "It's made me realise as a recovering addict that I have something to offer my community as a whole that's constructive rather than destructive".
